Who is the owner of Puente Romano Hotel?
Puente Romano Marbella hotel was built in 1976-1977 by the well-known property developer Tulio Pino who designed the project to look like an Andalusian village. Tulio started selling the units but in 1978, most of them were sold to Syrian-Saudi businessman Mouffak Al Midani (the first owner of Puente Romano ), who formed the basis of the Hotel. Later on, in 1995, the hotel was acquired by David Shamoon, a well-known London based businessman originally from Irak. Over the next few years he invested millions euros in renovations of Puente Romano and Marbella Club, reestablishing them as one of the leading hotels in Europe, developing also the Marbella Club Golf Resort.
With a long list of famous guests and the privilege of hosting events such as Bjorn Borg’s wedding party in 1980, the Puente Romano soon acquired an international reputation that would rival even the hallowed Marbella Club Hotel.
