Puente Romano Marbella.
Puente Romano was originally constructed in 1974 as an exclusive apartment complex on the Golden Mile, perfectly located between Puerto Banús and the centre of Marbella. In 1979, it was officially inaugurated as a hotel. At the heart of the complex, you can still see a beautiful, authentic Roman bridge, a remnant of the Roman road that linked Rome and Cadiz. Puente Romano, which means “Roman Bridge,” belongs to this historic feature.
Marbella history.
Marbella’s fashionable reputation and desirable Bohemian lifestyle can be attributed to the inception of the Marbella Club Hotel by Spanish aristocrat Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe-Langenburg.
Prince Alfonso’s father was smitten by the Finca Santa Margarita, situated just outside the quaint village of Marbella when he stopped for a picnic while waiting for his Rolls-Royce to be fixed. The subsequent year, Prince Alfonso was sent to purchase the farmhouse and 180,000m2 of land as a private getaway for his family. These vacations, shared with esteemed family and friends – including European nobility- proved so popular that Prince Alfonso decided to transform the location into a luxurious hotel where guests could indulge in the paradisiacal Mediterranean shores.

Marbella’s record-breaking tourist numbers in recent years have attracted many visitors from the mid to top end of the market. Some have become so enamoured with the city that they choose it over other prestigious destinations.
Golden Mile.
Marbella Golden Mile’s unique lifestyle is a result of its stunning landscape next to the Mediterranean coast, as well as the presence of some of Marbella’s most iconic shops, restaurants, and hotels. This blend of exquisite properties, beautiful surroundings, and emblematic symbols makes the Golden Mile a specific location. If you’re considering purchasing a property in the area, it’s also worth noting that this area can be quite expensive regarding real estate and cost of living.
Puente Romano Passion.
Why is Puente Romano the most popular area in Marbella? The Puente Romano hotel is located on the avenue that links Marbella town and Puerto Banús, is situated at the centre of Marbella’s style and glamour scene. It is the sister hotel to the Marbella Club Hotel, which gained fame in the 1950s as the preferred destination for international jet-setters. The Puente Romano opened in the 1970s and added luxurious resort amenities to the area.
Throughout the years, the Puente Romano has expanded its offerings to include a well-known tennis club that Bjorn Borg once managed, a lavish spa and wellness centre, sophisticated beach clubs, a fine dining and event centre, art galleries, boutiques, and the adults-only Nobu boutique hotel. Additionally, an exclusive Puente Romano owner’s club is available.
Puente Romano: the top luxury summer spot.
Marbella’s diverse population results from the variety it offers to both residents and visitors, with differences in nationality, age, socio-economic status, and interests. From traditional beach-focused family holidays to sports enthusiasts, glamorous nightlife, luxurious villa entertainment, or peaceful privacy, Marbella attracts a wide range of people.
Puente Romano’s stunning location and exceptional facilities make it the perfect destination to meet various preferences. Puente Romano caters to all preferences, from those seeking a traditional summer family holiday or sports enthusiasts to glamorous nightlife, luxurious villa entertainment, or peaceful privacy. The area is also ideal for nature lovers, with access to beautiful countryside and cultural gems such as Málaga, Ronda, Granada, Córdoba, Sevilla, Jerez de la Frontera, and Cádiz. Winter sports in the Sierra Nevada and surfing in Tarifa add to the region’s appeal as a top vacation, living, or second residence spot.
A desirable lifestyle.
Marbella offers an array of exquisite dining options to cater to diverse palates. For those who appreciate Japanese cuisine, Nobu is a top choice with its excellent offerings. The Thai Gallery takes Asian cuisine to new heights, and the trendy Monkey Club is a must-visit for its delicious fare. For health-conscious diners, Rachels and Celicioso offer modern and wholesome options. Fine dining enthusiasts will relish the Michelin-starred cuisine at Bibo by Dani García. And to experience Marbella’s most elegant nightclub venue, head to La Suite.
Puente Romano boasts a superb assortment of restaurants suitable for any occasion. Some of our top picks include Serafina, Bibo, and El Chiringuito. We suggest grabbing a drink at La Plaza, bustling with activity throughout the year, for a lively atmosphere. During the summer months, lounge on the sofas while sipping cocktails, and in the colder seasons, stay cosy by the outdoor heaters.
Puente Romano’s apartments and beachfront bungalows are highly coveted, with families holding onto them for years and only appearing on the market briefly before being quickly snatched up. Puente Romano’s real estate demand surpasses its supply due to its stunning homes, location, amenities, services, and prestigious Marbella address. Its status as a Mediterranean luxury classic makes it one of the most desirable properties in the area. Contact us for more information on Puente Romano’s villas and apartments for sale.
Puente Romano is a captivating blend of attractions.
Marbella’s blend of cosmopolitan environment, Andalusian culture, and attractions are irresistible to those accustomed to colder climates. In addition, Marbella provides excellent value for money for socializing, dining, and purchasing apartments, penthouses, and villas compared to other luxury destinations.
LuxuryForSale.Properties Real Estate says, “This year, I’ve met several prominent people who enjoyed their summer so much that they are selling their properties in places like southern France and considering buying in Marbella instead. They found the people more welcoming, the weather better, and the atmosphere more relaxed.” These individuals spent most of their time in the Golden Mile and Marbella town, indicating that there is still much more to explore and appreciate in the region.

Located in the Golden Mile, the region is also home to the Marbella Club, which can be reached with just a few minutes walk along the stunning seafront promenade, adding to the neighbourhood’s reputation for luxury and elegance.
The hotel is named after the Roman bridge located within its premises, which remains intact today. It is worth noting that Marbella and its surroundings are home to several Roman ruins contributing to the region’s abundant cultural heritage. This fact is not widely known.
While the hotel was once known for its café culture, it has now transformed into a hub of culinary excellence. The arrival of the internationally acclaimed Japanese-Peruvian restaurant Nobu at La Plaza, the gastronomic centre of Marbella, solidified the hotel’s reputation for culinary distinction. Owners Club, Puente Romano.
Situated close to the reception of the Nobu Hotel, the VIP Club is a perfect blend of classic refinement and modern style. It is located in the most private part of the resort. In Owners Club membership is by invitation or recommendation. However, members can bring guests and those staying at the Nobu Hotel or occupying suites at the @puenteromanoresort itself can enjoymembership during their stay.
For permanent members the club offers a very select and luxurious though tasteful setting in which to relax, socialise and conduct meetings. In addition to staff that attend to your every wish, there is also a full schedule of events especially suited to the setting and its patrons. This includes social gatherings, interesting speakers of international standing and a cutting edge range of topics to interest a very discerning clientele.
Atmosphere impression of Puente Romano Beach Resort
Here’s a glimpse of the ambience at the Puente Romano Beach Resort:
About the Puente Romano Beach Resort:
Despite its size, the resort gives off an intimate feeling due to its small paths, bridges, streams, various accommodations, and abundant greenery. Strolling through the beautifully maintained botanical garden and discovering a charming restaurant or bar around every corner is delightful.
A wide variety of accommodations are available for booking at the resort, ranging from luxurious apartments and rooms to suites and private villas. You can even purchase your own house here! However, prices do start at around 2 millions.
One of the great things about this resort is that it’s open to the public, with so many delightful places to discover! There are around 15 restaurants and bars, a botanical garden, a tennis court, a spa, and more. How about having breakfast at Rachel’s Eco Love, grabbing lunch at Celicioso, and dining at Nobu?
Restaurant tips.
Choosing between beach clubs, healthy breakfast and lunch spots, elegant Japanese restaurants, or lively cocktail bars and clubs can be tough. However, here are my top five recommendations:
Rachel’s Eco Love
I love to start my day at Rachel’s Eco Love, especially during the spring or fall when the morning air can be chilly, and the sun slowly warms you up. It’s lovely to sit outside on the beautiful terrace by the pool. Rachel’s Eco Love serves organic and healthy dishes, including breakfast bowls, toasts, salads, and wraps.
Celicioso
This gluten-free bakery is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or anything in between. Celicioso ensure that food without sugar, dairy, or wheat tastes just as delicious. Start your day by grabbing some bread and the most delicious pastries and cakes with a clear conscience.
When on vacation, it is often difficult to maintain a healthy diet, so it’s nice to have a tasty, healthy meal from time to time. My recommendation is the poke bowl with salmon.
Supperclub
The Supperclub is an originally Dutch concept rolled out worldwide, including in Marbella. Here, you can enjoy a Mediterranean dinner at long communal tables, with spectacular performances between courses. After dinner, the DJ takes over, and you can dance the night away. I think it’s a unique concept that you should definitely experience at least once!
El Chirinquito
Does the idea of enjoying sea bass, white wine, and a sunset, or savouring a cappuccino, croissant, and the sound of the sea sound appealing to you? This beach club in Ibiza boasts a charming atmosphere with a thatched roof, plenty of wood, and soft colours. You can indulge in delicious food from morning to night, including refined and contemporary tapas for lunch and dinner. Situated on the Golden Mile, El Chiringuito’s terrace is perfect for people-watching while you dine.
Nobu
Do you recognize this name? Nobu is a global chain of hotels and restaurants founded by the renowned Japanese chef Nobu Matsuhisa.
This Marbella location is run by Nobu’s first female head chef, Eleni Manousou. The cuisine is a fusion of classic Japanese with Peruvian flavours. You can enjoy delicious sushi and Nobu’s signature dishes, such as black cod in miso and Japanese Wagyu.
I’ve had this restaurant on my list for a while now, and I need to find a good excuse to indulge in such luxury.
Staying overnight at a resort
Puente Romano Beach Resort
You can stay at the Puente Romano Beach Resort for around 500 euros per night. The accommodations range from a 55m2 junior suite to a 450m2 villa with a Jacuzzi, private garden, and swimming pool.
When you stay at the hotel, you can access various facilities such as swimming pools, fitness rooms, and a kids club. Additionally, you receive a green fee for the Marbella Club golf resort as an individual guest.
Nobu Hotel
I briefly mentioned the Nobu restaurant at the Puente Romano Beach Resort, but there is also a hotel. The five-star Nobu hotel combines modern luxury with minimalist Japanese traditions. The rooms are beautiful, uniquely decorated spaces, ranging from a “deluxe room” to a “four-bedroom suite” with a jacuzzi. The hotel also features a private pool exclusively accessible to Nobu guests.
Puente Romano Tennis Club.
The Puente Romano Tennis Club, located close to the luxurious Puente Romano apartments, is a renowned destination for tennis and paddle tennis enthusiasts in Marbella. Esteemed personalities such as Bjorn Borg and Manolo Santana have been directors of this prestigious venue, which hosts international tennis tournaments and chic summer concerts.
If you feel like being active after all that eating and lounging in the sun, book one of the 10 courts at this famous tennis club that has hosted many well-known tennis players. Here, you can come as a pro or if you’re holding a racket for the first time (in that case, it’s recommended to book a lesson with a friendly Spaniard). You can also play the highly popular sport of padel.
In addition, the Marbella Club boasts its golf course and equestrian centre in the nearby hills.
Six Senses Spa.
Puente Romano property owners are surrounded by a world of luxury, including access to the Six Senses Spa, one of Marbella’s most exceptional wellness centres. Here, they can indulge in pampering treatments in a great environment.
The Spanish are known for their “mañana mañana” mentality, meaning they will do everything “tomorrow.” You can adopt this way of life in this relaxed spa environment. They use natural ingredients from southern Spain, including extra virgin olive oil, sea salt, and mountain herbs.
Massages, facials, and beauty treatments may be given in a spa, but they also offer wellness therapies. For example, a personal conversation in which, among other things, your metabolism, oxygen, heart function, and blood circulation are measured. After that, you are offered a program tailored to your needs.
In addition to Puente Romano, there are many other activities in Marbella. Discover everything here about day trips, sights, activities, and more.
Puente Romano rentals.
Many individuals on the resort also rent out their homes. This beautiful south-facing apartment has a terrace of 30m² with a view of the gardens and pools. It is just a 2-minute walk from the beach and can accommodate 5 people with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
Residing in the Puente Romano vicinity.
Puente Romano’s apartments and beachfront bungalow villas are highly sought-after in this privileged enclave, with properties rarely hitting the market or being quickly snatched up. The demand for Puente Romano real estate exceeds its supply due to its stunning homes, location, amenities, and private yet central setting. Its prestigious Marbella address and Mediterranean luxury appeal make it one of the most desirable properties in the area. Luxury real estate in a highly coveted area.
The residential areas surrounding the Puente Romano hotel are highly sought after, with properties rarely becoming available and selling quickly due to the area’s popularity among affluent residents. The low-density construction, with a maximum of three stories, creates a spaciousness throughout the area, further accentuated by meticulously landscaped sub-tropical grounds.
Marina Puente Romano offers a range of apartments and penthouses, from cosy one-bedroom holiday homes to luxurious three-bedroom penthouses with breathtaking sea views. Many of these properties have orientations that allow for spectacular vistas of the sunset behind Gibraltar. These highly desirable properties are among the most sought-after in Marbella. Additionally, Puente Romano Phase II and Las Terrazas de Puente Romano, located nearby, offer equally luxurious apartments that perfectly complement the lifestyle offered at Marina Puente Romano.
Uno Beach Residences Marbella development project still under construction is an example with all the units sold out and a long waiting list.
A short distance from the beach and the seafront promenade leading to Marbella’s vibrant centre is exquisite apartment complexes with themed garden designs, such as the Japanese, Andaluz, and Persian Garden developments. These elegant complexes boast stunning garden designs and provide residents an ideal location to relax and enjoy the area’s natural beauty.
Puente Romano Phase 2 comprises one to three-bedroom apartments with a spacious swimming pool and meticulously landscaped gardens. The exclusive villas in this area are highly desirable, large-family homes that are rarely available due to their popularity.
With its extensive amenities, refined infrastructure, and established property market, we firmly believe the area is among the most desirable on the Costa del Sol and possibly even in Europe.
