To reach this coastal city, you can fly into Málaga Airport, the nearest major airport, located about 50 kilometers away. From Málaga, take a bus, taxi, or rent a car to drive along the scenic AP-7 coastal highway. Alternatively, trains run from major Spanish cities to Málaga, where connecting transportation options are available. Here we tell you about 5 options:

– If you come by plane.
Málaga airport is a main reference for both national and international flights. It’s less than an hour away, with a direct bus from the Airport that leaves from Terminal 3.
If you rent a car, you have to leave the airport in the direction of Cadiz – Algeciras, then take the A-7 until you find the exit that suit you better.
From Gibraltar Airport.
This airport, situated on British soil, has for now only one destination that is offered: the United Kingdom; that is, regular and charter daily flights with conventional and low-cost carriers link Gibraltar to the three London airports and the one in Manchester.
This airport is currently served by only two airlines: British Airways and EasyJet.
One more surprising thing about the airport is that special boarding facilities do not exist. Passengers walk along asphalt as it used to be, and goodbyes to travelers can be bid from the first floor of a cafeteria with an open-air terrace outdoors.
Other Alternatives.
Alternatively, one can also fly to Seville or Jerez de la Frontera; the distance is longer and the means of transport are not as comfortable as those in Málaga: in this case, it is better to rent a car. Only if you come from the UK, can Gibraltar airport be an alternative because it rarely hosts flights from other countries.
– If you get to Marbella by Ship.
You can also come to Marbella by boat, but note that the Marinas of the city only host private vessels. The closest port —having a service of maritime traffic for passengers is Málaga—offers cruises stopping at its docks and ferries coming from Ceuta, Melilla, Algeciras, and many other places.
