Following the news that the United Arab Emirates has joined the Schengen visa waiver agreement, the Costa del Sol’s Golden Triangle of Marbella, Estepona and Benahavis is poised to welcome a new influx of buyers looking to invest in property. European Union has confirmed that Emirati citizens are free to enjoy three months of visa free travel to 34 European countries. Marbella is set to benefit greatly from this new agreement, as it is the third favourite Spanish destination for UAE travellers after Madrid and Barcelona. Holidaymakers from the UAE are well known for their extravagant spending, with figures often surpassing two thousand euros a day and with the draw of Marbella’s numerous luxury hotels, fine restaurants and exclusive designer shops, there is no place better equipped to accommodate these discerning visitors. The agreement means that the visa requirements for UAE nationals for trips less than 90 days have been waived conditionally, while both parties ratifies the agreement. The UK and Ireland are not included since they do not form part of the Schengen visa waiver scheme. The predicted surge in demand from UAE travelling and buying Properties For Sale in Marbella may also persuade Emirates Airlines to select Malaga over Valencia as the third airport in Spain to establish new direct flights.
